Garage Door Made to Measure up to 2440mm over guide x 2490mm top of box. However, as a result of Brexit we are no longer in the European Union, so as from 1. January 2023 all garage doors in the UK must be supplied with a UKCA mark. This is different to the CE mark, which can be’Frankensteined’ together using suppliers’ CE marks for product – you can usually tell this from suppliers who have terms like’CE marked’,’conforms to the appropriate CE standard’ or’Complies with all current legislation’. In order to display a UKCA mark, your door must be tested to the harmonised standard BS EN 13241-1:2003 + A2:2016 and this must be done in the UK by a UK-based certified test company. At Rollerdor Ltd, all our doors are UKCA marked. As electric garage doors are classed as a machine, they are covered by the machinery directive. This means firstly that the top box/roll house must be enclosed to stop entanglement, unless it is above 2.5 metres in height; secondly, that as stated by the DHF and Trading Standards. A door operated by a’hold to run’ remote control device, capable of being operated without full visibility of the door itself, would be in breach of both the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the Construction Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011, unless an additional method (as provided for in the relevant standards) of ensuring the safety of the product can be demonstrated. This would not include a video/CCTV facility giving the operator view of the door. This is the top box section which the curtain rolls into to cover the working mechanism; for the RD55 it is. The curtain is the main rolling part of a roller door that travels in the guide runners. It is made up of individual slats, which are double skin aluminium with a foam-filled insulation, with the exception of the very last one, which is an extruded aluminium with a rubber insert for sitting on the floor. For the RD55, the dimensions of the slats are. 55mm high and 8mm thick. These are the extruded aluminium runners with double brush inserts that go on each side of the opening for the curtain to run in. For the RD55, the dimensions of these are. 65mm wide by 34mm deep. And they are supplied oversized so you can cut them to your exact measurements, as each side can vary when installing the door level and square. These connect the curtain to the main shaft barrel and supply extra pressure on closing when the limits are set correctly on the door to stop against the curtain being lifted. For the RD55, these are supplied as standard. These are the units that are supplied to control the door that are selected with a rocker switch, a key switch, a hardwired safety edge, a wireless safety edge or a wireless safety edge with alarm. The RD55 comes with an internal manual override system as standard, meaning you can open the door by hand from the inside if there is a power failure. If you have no other entrance to your garage other than through the garage door, you will need to add an external override kit to your order. The door in this listing is a made-to-measure product, but the maximum opening width. Guide runners is 2440mm (8ft), meaning that once you take off the 65mm for the guide runner on each side, the maximum drive through width between guide runners is 2310mm (7ft 7). The door in this listing is made to measure, but the maximum opening height. Top box is 2490mm (8ft 2″), meaning that once you take off the 205mm for the top box, the maximum guide runner height to underside of top box is 2285mm (7ft 6″). However, as with all roller garage doors, the last slat has to stay in the guide runners when fully open, so if you allow an extra 50mm off the height you would have the rough walk through height available.
